A new lineup every week.
No draft. No season-long roster.
Pick eleven NHL players inside a points budget, watch them play for a week, then do it again with a clean sheet. Nobody owns anyone. Miss October and you can join in January and still win the season.

How it works
-
1
Every player has a price
One point for a fourth-liner, eight for the best player in the league in a week his club plays four times. The price moves with form and with how many games that club has.
1 2 3 5 8 cheap → dear
-
2
Fill eleven slots inside the budget
Five forwards, four defence, two goalies. The clock counts what you have left as you pick — it turns red the moment the lineup can no longer be completed.
-
3
Lock at first puck drop
Lineups are final when the week's first game starts. Injuries after that ride — no replacements, no waivers, no trades. Then it scores itself and you start again.

The squeeze
Eleven slots, 32 points, and nobody costs less than one. Fill every slot at the floor and 11 points are gone before you have said anything. The other 21 are the only ones that express an opinion.
Here is a real week — the published prices for 10 November 2025, all 32 clubs playing. Four players came out at the top price:
- 8 Connor McDavid EDM C 4games
- 8 Leon Draisaitl EDM C 4games
- 8 Nikita Kucherov TBL R 3games
- 8 Nathan MacKinnon COL C 3games
Each of them is 7 above the floor, and you have 21 to spend above it. 21 ÷ 7 is 3, exactly — three of them and every other slot at the minimum. A fourth would cost 39. You pick three of those four. Someone has to be left out.
So the week becomes a real question rather than a list of the best players available. And the player you drop back to is not always worse. Same week, same price list:
- 4 Sidney Crosby PIT C 2games
- 3 Charlie Coyle CBJ R 4games
Crosby had two games that week. Coyle had four. A point cheaper, twice the ice, and our own projection had the third-liner ahead — 3.4 to 2.7. Sometimes that is right, and sometimes Crosby scores four on a Tuesday and it is not.
Noticing which weeks are which is the game. It is worth a few points a week — enough to matter over a season, not enough to make anyone unbeatable.

Goalies also score as skaters on the rare night they put up a point. Your commissioner can adjust the ruleset before a week opens.
