How it works

    Every player has a price

    One point for a fourth-liner, eight for the best player in the league in a week his club plays four times. The price moves with form and with how many games that club has.

    Fill eleven slots inside the budget

    Five forwards, four defence, two goalies. The clock counts down your points and reminds you that every empty slot has to be bought too — it warns you when that starts to pinch, and won't let you strand a slot.

    Lock at first puck drop

    Every pick saves as you make it, and whatever is in your lineup when the week's first game starts is final. Injuries after that ride — no replacements, no waivers, no trades. Then it scores itself and you start again.

The squeeze

Eleven slots, 32 points, and nobody costs less than one. Fill every slot at the floor and 11 points are gone before you have said anything. The other 21 are the only ones that express an opinion.

Here is a real week — the published prices for 10 November 2025, all 32 clubs playing. Four players came out at the top price:

Each of them is 7 above the floor, and you have 21 to spend above it. 21 ÷ 7 is 3, exactly — three of them and every other slot at the minimum. A fourth would cost 39. You pick three of those four. Someone has to be left out.

So the week becomes a real question rather than a list of the best players available. And the player you drop back to is not always worse. Same week, same price list:

Crosby had two games that week. Coyle had four. A point cheaper, twice the ice, and our own projection had the third-liner ahead — 3.4 to 2.7. Sometimes that is right, and sometimes Crosby scores four on a Tuesday and it is not.

Noticing which weeks are which is the game. It is worth a few points a week — enough to matter over a season, not enough to make anyone unbeatable.

Goalies also score as skaters on the rare night they put up a point.

The rules above are the ones in force. They can change during a season: when they do, this table changes with them. A change applies from the week its pool switches: weeks already scored keep the rules they were scored under, and a week not yet final may be scored under the new ones. The published values are the ones used: if the site ever calculates with anything different, the calculation is corrected to match them. A correction like that is not a change to the rules.

Stars. In a pool that plays stars, each week you may star one forward and one defenceman in your lineup, and their points count double for that week. Starring is optional: no star, no bonus. Goalies cannot be starred. You can change your stars until the lineup locks, and they lock with it; a starred player you take out of your lineup loses the star. A pool plays stars from a set week on; a week already open keeps the rules it opened with. The picker says when a week has stars.
